**Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our dynamic team for a commercial construction project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sheet metal installation, fabrication, and repair, as well as strong knowledge of construction safety standards. **Responsibilities** + Install, assemble, and repair sheet metal components in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and project requirements. + Fabricate, measure, cut, and shape sheet metal using appropriate tools and techniques. + Ensure quality and accuracy in all installations, including HVAC ducts, flashing, and other metal components. + Operate scissor lifts and other construction equipment safely and efficiently. + Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. + Collaborate with other trades and team members to meet project deadlines and ensure worksite efficiency. + Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance. **Essential Skills** + 4-7+ years of experience working with sheet metal/HVAC duct work and installation. + Ability to install and fabricate sheet metal. + Ability to install units and ducts on commercial, industrial, and construction sites. + Proficiency in HVAC installation and repair. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals. + Proficiency in using sheet metal tools such as brakes, shears, and grinders. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic, preferably in commercial construction. + Valid OSHA 10 Certification (a plus). + Scissor Lift Certification (a plus). + Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights. + Excellent communication and teamwork skills. **Why Work Here?** We offer comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, and vision, along with a 401(k) plan, providing a supportive and rewarding work environment. **Work Environment** Work on Commercial Construction Projects, where you'll be part of a collaborative team committed to safety and quality, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools in a dynamic setting. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Alabama. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
