METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL-Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County.

**This Position is Limited Term for 12 months. This position may be terminated at any time or may become permanent at a later date**

Candidates will be placed into AM or PM shifts based on the needs of the hospital and must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any shift to meet the needs of the facility.

The Department of State Hospitals, Metropolitan State Hospital, is currently accepting applications for Food Service Technician II, Limited Term/Fulltime. Working title: Food Service Technician II/Nutrition Services.

Under supervision of the Food Service Supervisor I/II, the Food Service Technician II will instruct, lead, coordinate and work with Food Service Technician I (FST I) employees as well as unit staff from the patient population. The Food Service Technician II serves and assists with the preparation, pre-dish, and assembly of food and beverages; cleans and sanitizes all food service equipment, dining tables, and chairs; labels and dates food items using the FIFO-First in, First Out method; has the correct food items per the menu/meal ticket and is able to portion correctly; ensures correct diet and modified diet/liquid textures are adhered to; ensures all cold food items are served below 41ºF and hot foods is above 165ºF; assists with the loading/unloading of all meal delivery food carts and transit carts on refrigerated trucks between the Central Kitchen and Dining Rooms; receives weekly food and non-food orders from the Central Kitchen and stocks in the dining room pantries; follows the Nutrition Services Policy & Procedures Manual, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures, as well as Hospital Administrative Directives and all other policies that may apply.
