- This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic programs that align with internal stakeholder needs, focusing on cost-effective solutions, timely acquisition, and comprehensive supply management

- Innovate and creatively solve problems, taking full ownership of your projects
- Represent American Airlines in negotiations and business dealings, both internally and externally
- Act as a catalyst for change, streamlining processes for greater efficiency
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of commodities and categories
- Assist with the development and implementation of category strategies as a strategic thinker
- Assist with RFP processes and contract negotiations
- Enhance company value while fostering positive supplier relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and integrate them into procurement processes
- Communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions
All you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience - Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience - Advanced degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related field
- Proficiency in Source to Pay systems
- Experience in vendor relationship management
- Skills in process mapping and supplier risk analysis
Skills, Licenses & Certifications - Knowledge of supply chain concepts, with work or internship experience applying those concepts
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to be self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow through and initiative
- Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis
- Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement
- High ethical standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles
